For example, you don't want to apply for a grant intended for a company as individual. You will quickly be denied for not meeting the specific requirements of that grant. • The easiest way to apply for a grant is to do it online. The majority of government funding applications are available on the SBA's and SBDC's websites. The application process is as difficult as it was before and doing in online saves you a lot of time and hassle. These government sites include step-by-step instructions along with a FAQ section that you can both refer to while filling out the application.
• A grant application done over the internet is given a Funding Opportunity Number. Don't lose this number. It is very important for downloading purposes and necessary as part of the registration with the Central Contractor Registry. This Funding Opportunity Number is used for identification purposes and can be quite helpful when applying for multiple grants. Once the application is finished complete, you will be contacted by an adviser.
• The final step is the actual process of filling out all of the paperwork. This usually includes preparing a grant proposal letter as well as a business plan.
