Time To Move Up From the Worn Out Sales Brochure
Copyright 2005 John Jantsch I got another one of those calls the other day. . ."Can you make me a brochure?" Many business owners have been sold on the notion that they need a tri-fold brochure or they are not in business. Forget it...everybody's got one and no one uses it. Your potential clients need an education.

The Online Business Quandary
Building an online business is about as simple as re-building the Coliseum. Type any combination of "online business programs" into Google and watch all of the latest get rich quick scams populate the search engine results. These companies are geniuses at Internet marketing, but they all fail to produce real results that are quantifiable and measurable over an extended period of time.

Time to Buy a Foreclosure
So you want to be a major player in the real estate market just like Donald Trump? Maybe you are not good enough to be Donald's apprentice just yet, but you have to start somewhere - even the Donald wasn't born rich. As you have observed the real estate world around you, most likely you have considered many different types of investment properties that will return a positive cash flow.

The Art of Eviction
Investing in real estate is a tricky business. For people who have a lot of extra income and are just looking to make sound investments, real estate is a great way to go. Real estate investment properties provide high returns, and many would argue - including Bill Montgomery of Trophy Homes - that real estate returns are even higher than returns on stocks.

A Car Donation Does Make a Big Difference
Mother nature's fury, floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes, have wreaked havoc on many people, and communities. As a result of these devastating events, homes, and lives have been destroyed. Rebuilding infrastructure and property, requires a great deal of resources, and capital. Federal, and local financial aid are much needed, however this aid falls short of what is truly required.

Move Your Desk to the Woods
Over the last decade, many people have begun to take advantage of the opportunity to operate there business from home. The majority of these home businesses are actually operated via the Internet. As the Internet based success stories continue to mount up, more and more people are turning to the Internet to create their own success stories.

Do you think that your workload is hampering your killer marketing activities...
You need an extra effort not the extra workload. Today when competition is high and consumers have many options to choose, an extra effort towards improvement of your product, managing your customers and taking care of other aspects of your business will give you advantage over your competition. You need to multiply your time may be you can keep your margin low, but will give you more volume and increase in your turnover.

Recently I developed my own E-Zine, which is like an on-line newsletter for those of you that don't know. (I personally prefer the word "newsletter" but don't tell anyone, or I won't be hip) I write short stories and quips, I tell people about my homeschooling experiences, I advertise for friends of mine...its very quaint at this point, but I am enjoying it. Anyway, after I sent out the first issue, my girlfriend e-mailed me and she said it was very nice, but she wondered if this was a newsletter to promote my business or to update friends about my life in general. I had to think about it. After all, the original intent of the newsletter (e-zine) was to promote my business, but it was definitely developing into something else. I thought my answer to her was very astute, I told her "I guess my life is my business."

Now don't be confused. I did not say, "my business is my life", I said "my life is my business", there is a very big difference. Anyone reading this probably knows, you cannot be all business all the time...we all know people who take their jobs and careers way too seriously. Its tough to maintain a marriage to someone like that, or be their friend, or their son or daughter. To misquote a famous movie, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Am I right?

If any of you have studied or read about Feng Shui, you probably know that our lives have seven "categories" so to speak...those seven areas are what balance us as human beings on this planet. Those areas are family, career, health/wealth, Spirituality, creativity, helpful people and relationships (marriage). When we give equal energy to all of these areas then we are in perfect balance and our lives run smoothly. (ok Lisa, come back to reality!)

When I think about the life I have chosen, I see that it includes so much more than my work at home projects. I actually see my family unit as a tiny solar system, we sort of revolve around each other and help each other in passing, some days are about school, some days are about family, some days are work, some days are a mish mash of events. I honor my kids, but I do not spoil them. They learn from our experiences and our struggles...I have taught them about being responsible for their actions, about money, about love, healing, having fun and working hard. I teach them something that no one ever taught me...to be self-confident.

Another thing I am implementing into my life is to lean on my friends and family on occasion. Helpful People are very important in our lives. It has been said that the thing you truly want is only 2 phone calls away, and when you have helpful people in your life that is certainly true. Its really cool to get to know your grocery store clerk, the mailman, a new neighbor, or your bank teller. For YEARS I was terrified to meet new people, and I don't know why I was like that. Now, I try to make eye contact and conversation everywhere I go. Its fun, and I have so many more friends now than I ever did.

Creativity...Ahhh, yes. What is your passion? What was the thing you LOVED to do as a kid? If you had time today, would you still do it? Paint? Draw? Play baseball? Skateboard? Tell jokes? Have you tucked away the child in you, or have you forgotten how to be playful? This is VERY common, we either forget about our creative side, or we overindulge...you must find BALANCE. Personally, I love being on stage. I was an actress as a younger woman, and today I have no time to put into stagework but I find ways to express myself by singing karaoke and telling stories and writing. I do dream about it. It is my intention to someday get back to the stage and I fully believe it will happen.

Surely I will be able to sew this story up, are you wondering what the moral will be? Well, let's get back to the title, and maybe you will follow. "My Life is My Business". Can you see how important it is to honor every part of your life, not just the money part, or the working part, or the paying bills part? OF COURSE these things are important and need to be addressed, but you will NEVER accomplish your wealth goals, if you ignore the rest of your life. Look all around you. Give importance to each section of your life. Give hugs. Tell jokes. Take a walk. Eat an orange. Laugh. Send flowers. Tell a kid how important he/she is to you.

Your LIFE is your BUSINESS.
