Slaying The Beast... Defeating Spyware
Often times when your computer is running fast and smooth, you think nothing can go wrong, you are the master of your technology and all is right with the world. Then reality hits. The answer is frustrating, yet simple.

What is The Windows Registry?
The Windows registry is a database which stores settings and options for the operating system for Microsoft Windows 32-bit versions, 64-bit versions and Windows Mobile. Spyware can do harmful things on your computer. You could innocently install a program that promised to boost your computer's speed and increase system performance when really that program is a Trojan horse that sneakily installs Spyware, Adware or Malware on your computer.

Some programs do little more than annoy you with advertising pop-ups that try to attract your clicks or membership. Some of these programs fill your computer with pornography which can turn up when anyone is using the computer including your Grandmother that loves to play online Solitaire or your child that wants to visit their favorite cartoon's website.

Other programs can do more than annoy you. They can steal your private information. Perhaps you've gone online to renew your driver's license or pay your credit card or telephone bill. You've entered all your information into an encrypted program and you feel safe and comfortable about what you've done.

But, it's possible that a program on your system is actually recording your every key stroke and sending it out to a third party who may use your details to apply for credit cards, or bank accounts and could do any number of illegal things with your information including selling false identification to illegal immigrants. This may sound far fetched but be assured, this is happening and illegal theft identity is a huge problem today.

Arming your computer with anti-virus software and even a firewall isn't enough to combat these problems. You need to install a program to clean your system. Many users install this program expecting no problems and are astounded to find several Adware programs on their computer. There's nothing they can do about what's already happened but the newly installed program can help them in the future. The program can not only delete unwanted programs from your computer now but also prevent you from being infected in the future. A Spyware program that auto-updates in the background while you work or play and protects your privacy is ideal.

Many people simply restore their infected program to an earlier date when they find that the computer is slow or that their homepage continues to be reset each time they go online. Without adequate software to battle this problem on an ongoing basis, the user will simply find themselves continually restoring their computer without knowing just how much of their personal data has been transmitted online against their will.
