The story of the Ball Watch Company starts with a disaster when two trains collided in Ohio, in the United States, on April 19, 1891. As a result of this collision, eleven passengers including engineers were reported dead. Soon, Mr. Webb C. Ball, the founder of the company, was handed over the task of investigating the real cause of such a massive collision. The final reports of the investigation were shocking as they stated that the mismanagement of time by rail authorities was the prime cause of this accident.
